I Love Monroe and Slate! Their story is heartbreaking (at times) and also beautiful. I love that Monroe is a strong woman and knows what she wants. Slate has had his heart broken so he doesn’t want a relationship. I love how we got more of Coen in this book. I love the ending! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!*Magic Beyond The Covers Book Blog*
Cherry Popper, was a sweet read. I just wish she'd done more to Simone and Coen's debacle. That part of the book too anticlimactic. I wanted another confrontation with her, after Slate got shot. Will Coen have his own HEA? I see he's with someone named Emily🤔?!!! Is there a story behind that?😲
Its not a memorable story.
I think we need Coen’s HEA.
Make sure you have nothing else planned because once you start this book you will not be able to put it down!! The story continues with Slate and Monroe still together but with an end date looming. But when Monroe moves in with Slate, feelings and emotions are running high. But what happens when Monroe Falls in love with a man who refuses to love? Can Slate continue to control her? Or will a line be drawn in the sand that ends the "relationship" before the get their HEA? Once again the reader is taken on an emotional ride with beautifully written characters, a story you will not be able to put down and hot sex scenes. Victoria Quinn has given her readers another masterpiece.
This book picks up after the horrendous wedding of Slate’s estranged Brother Coen and his conniving ex-girlfriend Simone. Slate agreed to a 3 month commitment because he wasn’t ready to let Monroe go. He knew she wasn’t right for her he had to many trust issues but yet he didn’t want her with any one else!Feeling are being tested and Slate decides to become distant and hurting Monroe in the process.Being hurt so badly by Simone, Slate does the unthinkable and Monroe knows she’ll never recover.And unexpected ally comes to the rescue but is it to late for Slate! Devastation, lies and the truth comes at a likely cost.Monroe put everything out in the open and it’s up to Slate to realize that money isn’t the only thing to happiness!!!Great book, very different from what Im used to reading but with great characters and chemistry, let’s not forget those hot as sin steamy page turners!! I was dragging the last few chapters because I knew I was close to the end.
I devoured this book in a matter of hours the complexity and drama was just too entertaining to stop reading I did feel like the story was a little rushed about 60% in and could've been amplified to really showecase the after effects of yet another break up and the emotional tolls all the characters experienced after that office scene the epilogue was cute but it left me wanting more details and a summary of what led up to it so I had to take a star away but regardless the book was great it's been such a long time since I've read a story where the characters stayed firm in their reasoning and didn't completely change the nature of who they are because they 'fell in love' or saw 'the fault in their ways' nothing drives me crazier than a strong character doing an almost 360° personality change half way through a series this was a great conclusion to the duet with well developed characters and thought out storyline.*side note what happened to Wyatt? And can we get a book about him?*
In the beginning Slate was a first class jerk and was with a woman once then walked away. When Monroe walked into his life he started changing and kept fighting it. He was in a really bad relationship and was betrayed so he was filled with anger and didn't want a relationship with anyone. He ditched Monroe but when he found out she was with someone else he convinced her to come back but once again he sent her away. When she decided to look for someone else he finally realized he was in love with her. Once you start this series you won't be able to stop reading until finished.
