The characters were so realistic and well developed , that I was pulled in from page one. The story line has all the facets of an interesting read: a backdrop of horse riding, showing, and relationships with these fascinating animals. Plus, I could relate to the angst and joy of adolescence. No matter what our age, aren't our teen years still the most vibrant days of our lives? Thank you, Ms. Ketchum, for a wonderful visit back to those days.
This is a great debut from what is sure to be a fantastic author for years to come. I am 30-years-old and this book took me back to my horse crazy childhood. I wish this book would have existed back when I was eleven or twelve. One thing is for sure, I would have been obsessed with it! As it is, I flew through it and it left me wanting more. It deals with real issues without being too adult for kids. In fact, I believe kids will like how it doesn't treat them like they are ignorant. The voice speaks to both adults and kids alike, and that is a rare combination. I cannot wait to read more from Ketchum and to hear more about these characters.

I have stated reading some of the book and enjoying it thus far. One of the best books i have read to date. A. N Ketchum is one of my top authors now.
this is a great book for all ages. I am an older adult, but my 11yr old grand daughter would love it too...whether you are a horse lover or not it tells an awesome story. Can't wait for the next book.
